  • highbred gentle blend

This is a blend of primarily second cutting Timothy. Some other second cut grasses are likely present. We intentionally mix multiple fields and farms to level out the nutrient levels in all bales. This reduces the variance for nutrients from bale to bale, shipment to shipment. This is a good choice for those wanting a soft, leafy hay that works well for some clients.

    Format choice is Easy Feed.

  • highbred sport horse

A blend of Timothy, Brome Grass, Orchard Grass and some native species. Hay is blended for texture and colour. A multi species and multiple fields (farms) gives the client a feed with a broader spectrum of nutrition, smells, and tastes. It is as close as we can replicate a pasture in a bale. It is our most popular product we sell.

Format choices are Herd and Easy Feed.

  • highbred diet blend

Our Diet Blend is produced from the lowest sugar content hay available in any given production season. As the sugar content, or water soluble carbohydrates (WSC) can vary with growing and harvest conditions, we must test every year. From these tests, we select the lowest WSC available. We blend multiple fields to reduce the peaks in sugars that can occur in a single farmer’s field. If you have a horse sensitive to sugar in hay, this is a good choice.

Format choice is Easy Feed only.

  • highbred elite horse

This is a blend of pure Timothy stands. We combine first and second cut Timothy from multiple fields and growing areas (irrigation and dryland from the Eastern Slopes of Alberta). Hay is blended for colour and texture. The Elite Horse works for those who demand a pure Timothy hay.

Format choice is Easy Feed only.
